Notice About Hybrids
Please note: The Greenify Loan is available for plug-in hybrid vehicles, also known as PHEVs. However, if the vehicle is a standard hybrid, sometimes referred to as a “self-charging” hybrid or HEV, and does not have a plug-in option, it would instead qualify for our regular (previous) Green Car Loan rate of 6.5%, (6.7% APR). For more information or to check which rate may apply, please contact the office.

Electric Vehicle Grant Information
The process usually begins by choosing the make and model of electric vehicle that suits your needs. SEAI’s comparison tool can help you compare options.
Once you have selected a vehicle, you can visit a dealer for a test drive and to ask any questions about the car’s features, performance or specifications.
When you decide to purchase, the dealer will apply for the grant on your behalf, and the grant amount will be deducted from the agreed purchase price of the new electric vehicle.
Driving an electric vehicle can help reduce transport costs compared with a similar new diesel engine car. According to SEAI, EVs can offer a 74% reduction in transport costs. Electric vehicles can also qualify for the lowest rate of motor tax, currently €120 per year.
The Electric Vehicle Home Charger Grant is a government-funded support that helps homeowners and residents with the cost of installing an electric vehicle charging point at their home. The grant can provide up to €300 towards the purchase and installation of a home charger. To qualify for payment, the installation must be completed by a Safe Electric Registered Electrical Contractor.
The ICE2EV Scrappage Scheme is designed to encourage drivers to replace older petrol and diesel cars with new electric vehicles.
People with petrol or diesel cars registered in 2013 or earlier may be eligible for grants of up to €8,500 towards the purchase of a new electric vehicle.
The scheme has a total budget of €10 million and will close once the available funding has been fully allocated.
