Join our Youth Committee!

The Youth Committee is open to people in the community between the ages 16 - 35. To join the Committee you need to be a member or alternatively become a member of Donore Credit Union and dedicate some time each month to the committee.

The Mission of the Youth Committee

The Youth Committee’s mission is to attract, empower, and retain young members. We combine cooperative and financial education with entrepreneurship, professional development, and community support activities. By investing in young people and encouraging their involvement in community development, we create ambassadors for the Credit Union.

Youth Committee Activities

Art Competition & Schools Quiz

Help out with organising the art competition and schools quiz (if applicable).

Planning & Strategy

Helping with the creation of a Youth Committee plan & structure. Goal is to start small and build momentum.

Market Research

Gather information about younger people in the common bond and what young people want from the Credit Union.

Creating Social Media Content

Creating engaging digital content for social media channels to help attract a younger audience.

Community Outreach

Establish contact with schools, youth clubs, sports clubs, etc to promote the Credit Union.

Attend ILCU Events

Attend meetings organised by the ILCU or relevant organisations to network and share information.

Organise Events

Organise events to get young people engaged with the Credit Union and to attract younger members.

Presentation Skills

Working together with local schools to promote financial skills, savings workshops, etc.
