
The Brendan Lynch Scholarship was established in 2018 and is a partnership between Donore Credit Union & Griffith College Dublin. Every year one student is awarded a scholarship worth €3,000. 50% of the scholarship is provided by Donore Credit Union & the other 50% by Griffith College.

The scholarship is open to any member currently enrolled in Griffith College Dublin, this includes Masters and part-time students. You can apply for the scholarship online by filling in the form below or submit a hard-copy of the application form to the office. We are asking applicants to answer the following question in 150 - 300 words:
"What made you choose the course you are studying at Griffith College and how would this scholarship help you to pursue a degree?"

Terms & Conditions
- You need to be a member of Donore Credit Union Ltd. in order to apply for the Brendan Lynch Scholarship.
- Must currently be enrolled in Griffith College Dublin, and provide proof of acceptance or current enrollment.
- Must have a permanent address in the Republic of Ireland and a valid PPSN
- All eligible applications will be reviewed by a selection panel
- The funds received by the recipient will go directly towards their tuition/course fees. Please note, that Donore Credit Union will not provide cash to the winner or cover any costs for associated academic costs (laptops, phones, text books, etc.). All funds will be paid directly to Griffith College.
- The scholarship will be awarded based on the quality of the application
- The deadline to apply is Sunday, 26th October 2025.
- The answer needs to be between 150 - 250 words

- Proof of current course or course acceptance needs to be provided if chosen as a recipient.
- You need to fill in all the details in the scholarship form below to be eligible to enter.
- Please note, this is not open to employees, volunteers or their families of Donore Credit Union or Griffith College.

To Apply you need to
- Be a member or become a member of Donore Credit Union (to join, see info below).
- Planning or currently be enrolled in Griffith College Dublin.
- The winner has to be able to provide proof of course acceptance or tuition payment.
- Have a permanent address in the Republic of Ireland and a valid PPS number.
If you are not a member you can come down to the office at 22 Rutledge Terrace to join in-person or alternatively apply for membership online.
You need to bring the following documents:
- Photographic ID (Passport or Drivers License
- Proof of address (within last 3 months) - (utility bill, letter from International office, etc.)
- PPS Number
- €10 lodgement into your savings (minimum amount of funds in account) & €1 joining fee.
- If student is not a citizen of EU/EEA they would need a residence permit & a Garda National Immigration Bureau Card (GNIB Card).

To help students with financing for tuition fees, we offer a Student Loan rate at 6.9% (7.14% APR).
In order to be eligible to apply for a loan, a student will have to be a member of Donore Credit Union and show their ability to repay the loan by providing proof of monthly payslips and bank statements.
In addition to this, the student need to provide a proof of acceptance letter from the college and the funds will be paid directly to the college.
